On November 13-14, 2006 a delegation of the Patent Office of the of Bulgaria led by Mr. Kostadin Manev, President of the nominated institution, visited the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) with the scope to draft a bilateral Agreement of cooperation in the field of industrial property protection. From the part of the Republic of Moldova the Agreement was signed by Stefan Novac, Director General of AGEPI, endowed with the respective right, in presence of his Majesty Nikolay Iliev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Moldova, and Mr. Peyco Peychev, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in RM.
Reasoning from the requirement of the development of the effective business cooperation both scientific and technic between RB and RM and recognizing the rise of the importance of the industrial property protection in the development of the market relations of these both countries, Parts have to take required measures to develop and extend the reciprocity by the efficient exchange of experience and assistance in the mentioned field.
Particularly, the cooperation between the Parts will be axed on the exchange of the official information and legislative acts in the industrial property field, by the mutual information on the protection of the inventions, industrial designs, trademarks and appellations of origin of products, plant varieties and animal breeds, realization of the industrial property rights in the process of utilization of the intellectual product. The separate subjects of the Agreement constitute computerized systems and informational technologies, including the informational services in the industrial property field performed by the industrial sector, training of the specialists of Bulgaria, being a state-candidate of EU the Parts will cooperate in relation of harmonization of national legislation with the European standards.
The traditional methods of realization of such aims provide consultations, bilateral seminars, trainings organized at the assistance of the Bulgarian and Moldavian offices. The Parties will meet in Bulgaria and Moldova in order to discuss problems on implementation and realization of the Agreement.
We shall mention that up today AGEPI signed some bilateral agreements on cooperation in the industrial and intellectual property with CSI and EU, including France, Romania, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, in the process of negotiations in the framework of the Agreement on cooperation with Azerbaijan.
