On 24 September this year, employees of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) came to the great cleanup in the campaign “Hai, Moldova!” (Come on, Moldova!). The sanitation action was held simultaneously in the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
Thus, for four hours, AGEPI employees collected hundreds of bags of trash in the Riscani sector park. Much of the trash were bottles and plastic packaging and disposable tableware, but were also found sofas, tires, household equipment and clothes.
According to organizers, in the framework of the Cleanup Day “Hai, Moldova!” were picked up over eight thousand bags of trash, collected only in Chisinau. The sanitation action gathered approximately 3500 volunteers who collected the garbage from nine parks in Chisinau.
The aim of this campaign was to raise awareness of the population on proper waste collection and management, and to mobilize citizens for a practical action.
In Romania, the sanitation action was already held the seventh consecutive year, while in Moldova it was in its third edition.
