In the period od November 8-9, 2006 at 9.30 in the Palace of the Republic (hall II B) will take place the subregional seminar “Copyright and broadcasting rights”.Tthe organizers – State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) in cooperation with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Confederation of the Societies of the Authors and Coposers (ICSAC).

In the seminar will take part the notorious specialists from WIPO, ICSAC, representatives of the organizations with principles of collective leadership of the author right and related rights, institutions in the audiovisual field from Ireland, Romania,Russian Federation, Ukraine and Byelarussia.

On behalf of the Republic of Moldova there will take part about 20 unities of creation, enterprises and organizations, the activity of which is connected with subject-matter of the seminar, Ministries and Departments.

The WIPO and ICSAC collaborators will familiarize the audience with the last realizations in the field of author right and related rights protection, the perspectives of the international conventions and treaties, as well as with the most urgent problems in the given field. The discussions will be centered especially on the practical activity of the organizations with principles of collective leadership on the author right and related rights of Europe, negociations and conclude license contracts between these instittutions and organizations of tele- and broadcast.

The specialists of the international organizations will represent communications on the nowaday situation in the field of author right and related rights protection, namely: international conventions and the recent evolution in this field; the simultaneous and unchanged transmission of the tele- and broadcastings and retransmission thereof: the practical aspects and legal matters of the cable and satellite transmissions; application of the collective administration of the right on the reprographic reproducing: principles and different modes of operation; practice of negociation and licensing between the organizations with principles of collective leadership of the author right and organizations of broadcasting of the Europe etc.

On November 9, on the last day of the seminar, at 12.30 in the „INFOTAG” Agency there will take place a press-conference dedicated to the resuls of this important reunion on realizing the author right and related rigts in the conditions of globalization.
