Over 50 medals obtained by Moldovan inventors at the EUROINVENT-2015

In the period 14-16 May this year, inside the Pallas Mall, Iasi (Romania), was held the seventh edition of the European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation EUROINVENT.

The exhibition was organized by Inventors Forum, Europe Direct Iasi, Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” and University “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” of Iasi, under the auspices of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and World Invention and Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA).

Delegates from over 20 countries (Croatia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Korea, Malaysia, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Bulgaria, Qatar, Slovenia, Taiwan, Turkey, Great Britain, Ukraine and Russian Federation) gathered together at this noteworthy innovative event. The 200 inventors presented 400 works, distributed by the following areas: agriculture and food industry, medicine, cosmetics, laboratory equipment, industrial equipment, environment pollution control, energy and sustainable development, construction and materials, chemical and textile industry, communications, etc.

Moldovan inventors were present at this exhibition with 70 works of the academic institutions and universities. Thus, in the works of the exhibition EUROINVENT - 2015 participated inventors from the Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection, Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Institute of Physiology and Sanocreatology, Institute of Chemistry, Institute Botanical Garden and other institutions subordinated to the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, and representatives of the Technical University of Moldova, State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “N. Testemitanu”, State University of Moldova, National Scientific and Practical Centre of Emergency Medicine, Institute of Crop Production “Porumbeni”, Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer, etc.

Developments presented by inventors and researchers from the Republic of Moldova have enjoyed great interest from visitors and the high appreciation of the Jury, being awarded 35 gold medals, 14 silver medals, five bronze medals and seven special prizes.

Representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated in the works of EUROINVENT-2015 with an information stand, disseminating information and rendering consultancy on the national system of protection of intellectual property. Traditionally, AGEPI selected and mentioned with distinctions three of the most interesting inventions presented at the exhibition. Thus, AGEPI medals were awarded to the following participants: Norazian Mohamed Noor and co-authors from Malaysia Perlis&Wailalak University, Thailand (Malaysia), Mohammad Reza Mohammad Shafee from Islamic Azad University (Iran) and Ahmed Hosni Ali from Beni-Suef University (Egypt).

AGEPI Prize was awarded to the group of inventors from the Faculty of Science and Materials Engineering of the Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” for the exhibited inventions, but also for the contribution to the organization of this prestigious event.

For its activity carried out in promoting the national system of protection of intellectual property, sustaining and promoting abroad the achievements of national researchers and inventors, AGEPI was awarded the Special Prize of the Romanian Inventors Forum.
