Official Visit of the Turkish Patent Institute Delegation to AGEPI

In order to strengthen the relations of cooperation between the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) and the Turkish Patent Institute (TPI), in May 23-25, a delegation from the TPI, which included Mr. Habip ASAN , President of TPI, Miss Elif Betiil AKIN, Head of International Relations Department, and Mr. Ulgen GUMUSSOY, chief of Division in the International Relations Department, made an official visit to AGEPI for the purpose of signing the Protocol of Cooperation in the field of industrial property protection between AGEPI and TPI.

In the bilateral meeting at AGEPI-TPI directors level, on behalf of AGEPI participated: Dr. Lilia BOLOCAN, Director General, Dr. Svetlana MUNTEANU, Deputy Director General, Dr. Ion TIGANAS, Deputy Director General, Dr. Maria ROJNEVSCHI, Director of Promotion and Publishing Department, Dr. Simion LEVITSCHI, Director of Trademarks and Industrial Designs Department, Ala GUSAN, Director of Inventions, Plant Varieties Department, and Andrei MOISEI, Director of Legal Department. The meeting started with the presentation of activities of the two offices, organizational structures, results registered in the field of ​​patenting/registration of IPO.

Signing of the Protocol of Cooperation in the field of industrial property protection between AGEPI and TPI was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of Turkey in the Republic of Moldova Ahmet Ferit ÜLKER and Mrs. Özlem HERSAN, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Turkey in the Republic of Moldova.

The Cooperation Protocol provides common actions focused on providing efficient protection of industrial property rights to be implemented by AGEPI and TPI for a period of five years, namely: technical assistance for the implementation of the computerized system for the procedures for granting industrial property rights; enhancement of cooperation relations with the relevant bodies and institutions of both countries, in order to implement the decisions of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and World Trade Organization (WTO); training and organization of mutual visits of the specialists of the two offices, etc.

The program included a visit to the Moldovan-Turkish Lyceum “Horizon”", with the view to familiarize the senior class pupils with the IP protection system of the Republic of Moldova and Turkey.
