In the period from 15 to 18 February 2012, AGEPI participated with an information stand in the International Specialized Exhibition of Machines, Equipment and Technologies for Agro-Industrial Complex “MOLDAGROTECH”, twenty-second edition.

The event was organized by I.E.C. “Moldexpo” J.S.C. in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova. AGEPI specialists informed the economic agents in the agro-industrial sector about the aspects of the national intellectual property protection system, providing consultancy, distributing and presenting promotional material in the field to both economic agents present at the exhibition and visitors.

MOLDAGROTECH exhibition is one of the most important and prestigious events organized by IEC “Moldexpo’, reflecting, throughout the 20 editions, the key trends in the development of agro-industrial complex of Moldova. It occurs twice a year: in spring, on the eve of farming, and in autumn, after harvesting. Spring edition aims at providing farmers with agricultural machinery, seeds and fertilizers.

The February 2012 edition was attended by circa 100 companies from 10 countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Ukraine and Hungary. Exhibition themes covered virtually all areas of the agro-industrial sector.

Traditionally, within the framework of the exhibition was organized the International Competition “Useful for Moldova”, which aims at contributing to technical and technological equipment of the agro-industrial sector in Moldova. In accordance with results of the competition, the producers and distributors of agricultural machinery, fertilizers and phytosanitary products have been awarded gold, silver, bronze trophies and diplomas of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova. • To category Producers and traders from abroad of agricultural machinery and equipment and tools for the processing industry: “Аэромех” (Ukraine); Warfama (Poland).
• To category Producers and traders of phytosanitary products and fertilizers for agro-industrial sector: State Center for Certification and Approval of Phytosanitary Products and Fertilizers.

Within the framework of the exhibition were organized several seminars on current issues “Subvention to Agricultural Producer” (organizers - Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova; Agency for Interventions and Payments for Agriculture), “Achievements in the Field of Mechanization of Technological Processes in the Agro-Food Sector” (organizer - SE Institute of Agricultural Machinery “Mecagro”), “Technologies for Producing Briquettes from Straw and Other Agricultural Waste” (organizer – “Agreterra-Lux”), “Exploitation and Utilization of Renewable Energy Sources from Biomass” (organizer - State Agrarian University of Moldova, “Objective Necessity of Transition to a Sustainable Agricultural System in the Republic of Moldova. Climate Change and Risks in the Agriculture of the Republic of Moldova” (organizer - Public Research Institute for Field Crops “Selectia”).
