On 10 October this year, the delegation of the MIA Border Police Department, led by the Head of the Department Dorin Purice, undertook a working visit to the Premises of AGEPI. The purpose of the working visit was to familiarize with the activity of AGEPI in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights and establishment of bilateral cooperation relations in the field.
Thus, considering the importance and role of intellectual property for economic development of the country and given the need to ensure the best protection of industrial property rights at the border, during the working visit to the AGEPI the Head of the MIA Border Police Department Dorin Purice and the Director General of AGEPI Lilia Bolocan signed a Cooperation Agreement on the Protection and Promotion of Intellectual Property.
The overall objective of the Agreement provides for the establishment of a sustainable framework for cooperation between the parties under the provisions of the Moldovan legislation and reference international treaties, in order to ensure the enforcement of rights of the holders on intellectual property objects at the border both in crossing points and outside thereof.
The signed document also provides for the training of specialists responsible for the transmission and receipt of information under the Agreement, systematic organization of trainings, seminars and continuous training courses for employees of both institutions.
The heads of both institutions expressed their belief that the signing of the Cooperation Agreement will help coordinate efforts to enhance the national system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
